The purpose of the Student Scholarship Program is to encourage students with a strong interest in aquatic resources education to attend the Aquatic Resources Education Association’s biennial conferences. 

The scholarships include complimentary registration, meals and lodging costs. A travel stipend is available. Scholarship recipients will write and deliver to their advisor/Professor and to AREA a one page summary of knowledge gained from attending this Conference.

Student Requirements

1. Full-time enrollment in an accredited institution of higher education at the graduate level or have completed year three in an undergraduate program.

2. Strong interest in aquatic resources education & a career with a Fish & Wildlife agency.

3. Enrollment in a course of study related to aquatic resources education such as: fisheries and wildlife sciences, education, biology, conservation, or other related areas.

Application Procedures

1. Completion of the individual information below.

2. Signature of academic adviser or major professor at the bottom of this form.

3. One paragraph written statement about your professional goals and how they relate to aquatic education.

4. One paragraph written statement concerning what you want to achieve by participating in the Aquatic Resources Education Association Conference.

5. Optional one paragraph request and needs statement for travel expense reimbursement.

6. Optional - resume, letter of recommendations, unofficial transcript, etc.

7. Return this form and written statements by the Application Deadline: Wednesday, August 31, 2016
